Born in Thanh Hoa, Vietnam. My graduate education was started at Hanoi University of Technology (HUT), Vietnam in the field of Design & Manufacturing, and then my post-graduate studies included the following ones: HUT with Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven-KULeuven (Belgium) with Master of Biomedical Engineering and Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand) with both Master and Doctor of Engineering in Industrial Systems Engineering, Design &Manufacturing as well as Biomedical Engineering. Currently I am a Research Fellow and Project Manager at Cardiff University, Wales, United Kingdom. Before working for Cardiff University, I was a lecturer at Hanoi University of Technology, Vietnam.

My working and interested fields are: Medical & Industrial Product Development, Design & Manufacturing (CAD/CAM/CNC, CAPP, Finite Element Analysis, Reverse Engineering, Metrology, Rapid Prototyping & Manufacturing), Industrial Robots, Biomedical Engineering (Medical Image Processing, Tissue Engineering, Design & Manufacturing of Biomodels, Surgical Aid Tools, Implant & Medical Devices), Production and Operation Management, Quality Management and Project Management. My current main research area is to develop and investigate medical applications to enhance treatment and life quality in healthcare based on advanced technologies. Besides doing research, I am also interested in the issues related to technology transfer as well as teaching and training.

I have been working with Universities and Hospitals in Thailand, Vietnam and Europe in the areas of Biomedical Engineering since 1999. With the support by Belgian Government, my colleagues and I successfully transferred Biomedical Modeling technology to Universities, Institutes and Hospitals in Vietnam: HUT, Ho Chi Minh University of Technology, Cho Ray Hospital, Military Hospital 108, etc. My works in Vietnam in Biomedical Engineering (Biomodels, Implants, Surgical Aid Tools) and me were mainly featured in Tuoi Tre Newspaper (2001, 2005, Lunar New Year Edition 2006) and Vietnam News (Outlook Magazine, the official English Newspaper of Vietnam, published by Vietnam News Agency), and also re-appeared in many daily Newspapers in Vietnam (Nhan Dan, VNN, etc.).
